Hello World

Introduction

Throughout my developer journey whenever I was faced with a problem I was unable to figure out, even after checking official documentation, I've often been able to find a gem hidden away in someone's blog, article, StackOverflow comment or forum post which perfectly solved the impossible problem I was faced with. As developers we often take for granted the wealth of knowledge available online or in our colleagues. We sometimes forget that this knowledge did not magically appear online, it was placed there by someone who had an issue and reached out for help or wanted to chronicle their experience in an attempt to help others.

Starting out, whenever I found one of these life-saving sources, I was always amazed at the person's ability to think about their problems and put together a solution. I felt that this person possessed an ocean of knowledge at their disposal and I would never be able to achieve their level of enlightenment. I always imagined that someone who knew that much about a topic knew everything was to know about everything in IT. I never recognized that this person's knowledge wasn't something impossible to achieve, but was the result of years of experience, trial and error, head-scratching and of course Googling.

Why a blog?

After going through the trenches of tight deadlines, failed production deployments, framework upgrades, setting up deployment pipelines, leading teams and the dreaded production fires, I have come to recognize that I too may have information that could help someone get through an issue they are facing, and just like the many blog pots which saved me when I was stuck with no hope of salvation, I want to make this knowledge available in the wealth of knowledge out there for anyone who may happen to come across it.

What to expect

I'll be sharing any interesting situations I encounter on my day-to-day dev shenanigans. In terms of frequency of posts, I will not be sticking to a dedicated schedule. My updates will be organic and they will vary based on whatever I've encountered recently with the occasional planned full-length guides.
